Privacy
Almanac keeps as little about you as it can. There are no ads, no tracking cookies and no sign-up. This page lists everything that is stored and why. Last updated 31 October 2026.
Your games and results
To keep your streak and show how your result compares with other players, the game signs your browser in anonymously and saves your results in the game's database under a random ID. That ID isn't tied to your name, email or anything else about you.
The leaderboards show your results under a made-up name, or the name you picked for them. Nothing else about you is shown to other players.
Your progress and settings, like your almanac of the events you’ve got right and the light or dark theme, are also saved in your browser on the device you play on. Clearing your browser data starts you fresh.
Visit counts
Visits and game events, such as a daily started or finished, are counted with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you to other sites and keeps no personal data, which is why there's no cookie banner.
If a page crashes, the page name and the error message are counted the same way, so the bug can be found and fixed.
Netlify, which hosts the site, adds a small script that measures how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies either.
Feedback
If you send feedback, the message is saved along with the page you sent it from and your browser type. Your email is saved only if you enter it, and is only used to reply to you.
Services the site uses
The site is hosted by Netlify, and the database and pictures are stored with Supabase. The fonts come from the site itself. Like any web server, Netlify and Supabase see your IP address when your browser loads something from them.
The Buy Me a Coffee window loads buymeacoffee.com only when you open it, and their privacy policy covers anything you do there. Source links open Wikipedia and other sites as normal links.
Questions and removal
Write through the feedback form if you have a question about your data or want something removed, and add your email so I can reply. Almanac is run by a solo developer in Norway.
