Higher or Lower: earlier or later?

Higher or Lower shows you one historical event with its year and a new one without. Decide whether the new event happened earlier or later, then it becomes the one to beat.

How to play

  • Read the event with its year, then the new event below it.
  • Tap Earlier or Later.
  • You have 10 seconds for each answer, and the events get closer in time as the run goes on.
  • A wrong answer or running out of time costs a heart. Three and the run is over.
  • Get 10 right in a row to win back a lost heart.
  • Share your score and see if your friends can beat it.

Frequently asked questions

How does Higher or Lower work in Almanac?

Almanac shows one event with its year and a new event without. Tap Earlier or Later to say when the new one happened. It then becomes the event to beat. 3 wrong answers end the run, and 10 right in a row win back a lost heart.

Does Higher or Lower get harder?

Yes. You have 10 seconds per answer, and as the run goes on the events are picked closer together in time, so the gaps shrink from centuries to decades.
