Picture Daily: history in pictures

The Picture Daily shows 5 photos, paintings or objects, each tied to a historical event, loose from an old photo album with their 5 captions shuffled. Match each caption to its picture, then put the pictures back in the album in order from oldest to newest.

How to play

  • Zoom in on a picture to look for clues such as clothing, technology and art style.
  • Tap a caption, then the picture it belongs to, or drag one onto the other. Every miss is counted.
  • Tap or drag the pictures onto the album page, oldest first.
  • You have 3 attempts. After each one, neighbouring pictures that come one right after the other in history get taped together, and the rest show a broken link between them.
  • At the end you'll see each picture's year, event and credit.

Every event has a short description and a link to its source, shown when the round ends.
